transplant a/c problems?
I have a 87 250 4x4 supercab long box, 460 4sp. I'm in the process of a frameup and have a 89 regular cab parts truck. I want to transplant the a/c from the 89 to the 87. I have the condenser, evaporator, heater box, and complete interior wiring and switches in my parts truck. But the wiring harness in the engine bay is shot. My question is if this is a major deal or not. Are the wires I need in the old harness or will a complete dash swap be needed? Thanks for all replies.

I will swap only if the '89 uses the cable-style A/C control panel, with the blue pushbutton in the top middle. If the '89 uses 2-slides plus fan speed at the L side, you'll have to modify the '87 dash wiring somewhat. Get a Haynes manual and compare the wiring diagrams.
