Kobalt tool box with pro rack..

Hey guys I know this really isnt the place to post this but I feel like I know everyone here it just feels like family haha but I just bought a kobalt tool box its 12 in deep and 69 in wide. I have a pro rack but dont have the tool box brackets. STK pro rack doesnt sell any tool box brackets smaller then 21 in so I'm trying to think of something to fab up to mount the box to. I have a local machine shop that does some work for my job so I might have him look at it also and see what he can come up with but I wanted to see maybe someone else came up with something?

If you guys need pictures Id be more then happy to post some.

Thanks,

-AJ

Pics would be nice, But I do not see why you couldn't fabricate up some brackets that are more suited for your install. You can even cut the ones down that are 21" if you had a set or they are affordable.

Ill go outside right now and take some pictures.

one problem with cutting the brackets that you can buy are it would probably void the warranty. I thought about it but not sure how it would work out with the company.

(off topic woodnthings, im going to pm you about your coolant filter I have a question about the fit of the bracket/filter)

What if you took heavy gauge sheet metal and bent it like channel iron. you can utilize the bolt that is holding the rack down then mount the tool box to the side of it.

Looks to me like a piece of channel welded to the extension. The channel wraps around the rack (See the tab at the front) and then a bolt goes into the rack just I/B of the extension.

wow you didnt have to go that far but wow looks really good thank you so much!

I want to appologize for being a pain in the a** with this just trying to think of ideas.

Megawatt i was thinking of something like that but instead of going under that bracket maybe just under the washer? then it wont pick the rack up. but even if its under it it really wont make a huge difference. Im going to get a hold of the machine shop tomorrow and see if he has the right size square stock.

Going on your idea you could also get a piece of stock that would fit around that bracket (if that makes sense) then it would be really supportive.

Thanks again for all the help and the drawings!

I would be concerned that just going under the washer would not hold it tight enough. The square stock would work out very well too. I am the facilities maintenance manager for a steel fabrication plant so I would take the easy way and have it cut on the laser and bent on the press brake. LOL
