I do get heavy. I got it licensed for 38k. It pulls it ok now as long as I have a long clear shot to merge onto the highway. The truck camper and loaded horse trailer put me up around 30,000 depending on what's loading it. Hauling hay, well I won't even get into what I hook to it then. It would make most of you cringe. I'm easy on it though when I do that.
That's like me. I'm licensed for 36k. I haven't pulled quite as heavy as you but close. I take it real easy when that heavy too. Pulling like that I just don't think your stocker will keep up with stage ones and a chip, unless you turn the chip way down, then, MAYBE, if you're lucky. Mine would set a cel in the 30hp tow tune when hooked to my forklift and trailer. Like I said, just going off of experience and what Jim has told me. Not hard to change a hpop, but lots easier when the motor's right in front of you on a stand.
I'd get a 17 deg pump for it if I were you. I'd also plan on installing an IC if you would like to take advantage of any extra power the stage 1's will provide. It's an absolute must in my opinion if you intend to work it hard while loaded/towing.
I just got on to say that same thing MagKarl. You are gonna want an intercooler with towing. I've read it will reduce egt's about 200*. If that's true, I wouldn't even be able to pull the trailer in my pic in OD without one. Flat roads I run 950-1000 towing, that would equate to 1150-1200. Wouldn't want to do that for long..
