If you call my trailer in my pic reasonable (48') I get between 9.5 and 13. Depends on the speed, wind. 75 with no wind, 11. Wind, 9.5. 60 in drive no wind, 13.
It seems I average about a 6mpg loss with the trailer on.
The only time I got less than 10 mpg was pulling a gooseneck 3 axle flat bed with 30,000 pounds of hay into a 60 mph headwind. Seriously. I get 15-16 with the camper most of the time. Depends a lot on the wind around here.
I wish I was getting the mileage y'all are getting while towing. My '96 crew cab dually, 5 spd. and 411 gears gets 10 while towing a 33' travel trailer @ 60mph. Before ULSD it would get 11/12 mpg.

I'm with you. I pulled my 24' enclosed car hauler with a '50 Chevy coupe down the interstate this past weekend and only got about 10mpg. I also have 4.11's but was doing 70 the whole way. I was thinking it should have been a little high, but maybe not. Thanks guys.
Okay, what am I doing wrong ? I drive 60 mph, no fast starts and use the cruise when I can and still not getting the mpg. most are claiming they get at 5 to 10 mph faster then I drive.......

I wouldn't feel too bad about it. This is the internet. Everyone gets close to 20mpg while loaded to the gills going 70mph uphill both ways.
I get about 10-15mpg towing depending on what I'm pulling and where I'm headed. Empty average about 16-17mpg or so.
