hey guys once again snowing like crazy and i was out plowing and i heard a POP and then when done plowing the driveway i took off down the road and the truck was bouncing like my tires were shaped like eggs. I got out and unlocked the hubs and took it out of 4x4 and still does it...but not as bad. I can only go about 25mph before the bounce gets too bad i cant control it. I am home now and looked it over as best as i could with a flashlight and didnt see anything out of the ordinary.
the driverside doesnt have the space either. but i have broken leafs springs on my 2000 f-250 a few times and they never bounced like this. ??? i dont know. this crap always happens on a weekend when it frigen snowing like a ***** out!
Newtires can go bad the same as old,and they normally don't care where you are or what you are doing
Normally if you have a low speed bounce it's wheel or tire related
i would check the front u bolts and also were the bolts hold the leaf springs in the front under the rad cradel
" could snow packed in the rim cause that? I know I have had mud do it to mine before " thats not a hop thats a bad vabration in most cases if you feel it in the the steering wheel it the front of the truck and if you feel it in your *** it the back two tires area
well this morning i left to plow (because i have too) and it bounced down the road and then after about 15 minutes it stopped. So either snow/ice packed in the rim or 4x4 wasnt disengaging and there is a problem with the 4x4. not sure about the 4x4 didnt want to try and use it so before i left i put 3000 pounds in the bed!
Jim, the separated leaf spring is still not right. Anything that involves the front axle can be potentially dangerous. If something up there comes loose, well, it ain't gonna end well. If you can get s picture of both sides of you springs, maybe some fresh eyes can see the problem.
I disagree. packed snow/ice can easily make your truck bounce all over if not off the road. I have many many times came off the mountain to an EXTREME bounce just like you explain, only to clean out the wheels and be back on my way everytime. So I'm sure your problem was snow, BUT
I agree that you have a problem with the passenger side leaf springs...but I don't think thats why it was bouncing.
