hi I'm new.
I wanted an old truck as a daily driver and weekend worker, and happened across what I think is an old gem.
My last truck was a 1977 F100, 302 auto and 2wd, but she died of rust-itist... that was back in Maritime Canada... I don't think I'll have that problem here in Az... at least I hope.
I can post a pic or 2, if anyone is interested. She's no show truck, but I sure like her.
So, I have plenty of questions, and have used the search a little, but cannot seem to find what I'm looking for.
I'd like to decode the VIN, and I'd love to get ahold of factory specifications, or brochure... not original paperwork, just scaned versions or text versions something... just for intrest sake.
This looks like a great site... likely see me cruising here frequently.
Nice truck! I think you will like these year trucks much better than that late-model tin can that rusted away (don’t tell the guys in the newer forum!)
Why not make a user gallery for your gem and stick around for a while.
Post your VIN and we can figure it out for you but it doesn’t tell you a lot, the rating plate on the driver’s door tells the full story, we'll help you there too.
Also, the CD for the service manual in the online store has all the specs for working on your truck plus the dealer brochure too.
If you want a hard copy, try bidding on eBay, they show up all the time and reasonable too. I’ve got another ’69 brochure coming and it’s different than the one I already have. This stuff can get addicting if you don’t control yourself!
Thanks for the nice words about the site and hats off to Ken for making it all happen.

How about I just post them here?
VIN # f25hrf76749
I'm heading back down to the shop tomorrow, I'll get door tag info., and be back with more for you to figure out.
.I'm having the engine tore down, and rebuilt. Nothing special, just she's got a touch of blow-by and a bit of lifter tick, and I want it gone. May throw a RV cam in if the existing one is wore badly. Otherwise it's just a freshen job.
I'll check out the online store.
BTW, this is a dumb question I realize, but, what is 'FE'?
Click on 'Manage' your gallery at the top.
There you go! (Or if you want, just put one here.)
VIN F25HRF76749
F25 - F250 4x2
H - 390 2V
R - San Jose assembly plant
F76749 - consecutive unit number (built in April of '69)
FE most likely means Ford Edsel but that's one question we frown on, always causes a ruckus.

. Ford Edsel, If you are gonna make an engine that good, name it for a family member.

Sorry to if I've stir'd up the 'FE' debate... and thanks for the explanations.
Here are some pictures, not the greatest, but she's in a comnined area, and I didn't have much room to work with.

I'll be back later with door tag info.
Can you guys post links to your galleries?
I cruise thru them, but they do not seem to be by username... unless I missed something?

Private message, no, but will go there now.
Thanks for the compliments.
C-4, cool.
D60 w/ 3.54's, I hope the 3.54's are still in there, they feel short, I was thinking they were 4.10's or even deeper from 'feel'.
Thanks for the help.
