Smile Just making sure i dont get..

I'm about 95% sure i want to buy this 74' f250. it is lifted 12" and it is sitting on 39.5 supers. it has a 460 motor, factory air (not there anymore) it needs a heater core and a new carb because the current one does not have a choke (pita). can you please tell me some red flags i should look for before I dump some cash on it. thank you.

The biggest problem with lifted trucks is how they lifted them. I mentioned before about stacked lift blocks, and the PVC pipe body lift kit. You want ALL spring for lift in the front NO LIFT BLOCKS AT ALL!! In the rear, you want no more than a 4 or five inch lift block. Since Fords come with lift blocks already, make sure there is ONLY ONE lift block in the rear. Now look at the steering. Make sure the pitman arm and drag link aren't stretched out. That means, make sure the steering geometry is correct. It should have a dropped pitman arm and an elevated steering arm. Make sure the drive shafts are long enough. You shouldn't see ANY splines showing from a slip joint that is stretched too far. Look at the tires! Big tires aren't cheap! Make sure you're going to get a few miles out of them before you have to replace them. Make sure the brake lines have been lengthened. Short brake lines will pull apart if you try to flex the truck too far.

If the lift was done right, the rest of the truck probably was too. Just make sure all the modifications don't look like Billy Bubba did them with a hammer and a chainsaw.

If you can, take some pics when you go look at it and post them up here. It's amazing what these guys can point out in a pic that I probably wouldn't even notice in person.
