That's the position my light switch is in 99% of the time so the lights come on automatically at dusk. No fog lights until it gets dark enough for them all to come on. What am I missing?

You need to defeat the daylight sensor. I covered up the daylight sensor on the dashboard top under the windshield (the small bump) with black vinyl tape, and now the fog lights come on with the headlights in the daytime! Nice and simple mod!
I really just need to get my hands on a wiring diagram and I could figure it out. On my F250, there is a switched ground (relay) that the high beams/fog lights share and only one set of lights can get the ground at a time. It was as simple as giving the fog lights a permanent ground so they operate independently of the high beams.
I love being able to utilize high beams with fogs, it really lights up the road at night and I still have the factory look of my truck.
Did you ever figure this out ? I wanna do the same to my 07 Expedition.
It seems that in the 2007-2012 Expeditions they have the Fog relay (Integral) inside the Smart Junction Box. That's just a deducted guess, I'm not 100% sure but If you think you'd be able to figure it out, I can get you all the diagrams you need.
