Head first into a turbo.

Sounds like a cool title but alas, no one dies hahaha.

Here she is fellas. My new(to me) nearly complete banks system for $100, not too shabby and the blades are nick and bend free, it spins nice and has zero play.

Have most of the important part of the DP so that is a plus, still gotta figure the oil lines and crossover. Man i need a intstall manual hahaha........ Anyone?

nah im just going to install it, i figure for 100 bucks and another few hundred to get it in complete, i cant beat that. Also the guy here that does Level 1 Customz is a diesel mech that is a journeyman welder and engineer that is just getting started but i have seen some of his work. He has a propane bullydog system that he will let go of cheap as hell too. So it might just be on like donkey kong!! hahaha Give me a couple weeks, but seriously does anyone have a manual or install doc?

I saw a neat install where someone worked on the air filter housing with a milling machine.
Got rid of the Banks air filter compartment and just used the intake portion to get air into the intake manifold.

Then installed a big 6637 air filter on the turbo intake.

My bet, you will have less money in this install than you would the headers.
And you will have several times the power return the headers would have given you.

absolutely agree. I want nothing to do with the filter box, If i got crafty with a dremel and grinder could i just cut it all away? That would be sweet!! haha, id like to at least use my filter from my old setup, its rated at nearly 600CFM and i dont think these top that, but i cant remember.

So below is the pic of the underside filter housing for the banks old style. It appears that if i slice off the red line it will free me of the filters and huge box and restricted airflow. This is first on the agenda, does this look right dave from what you mentioned earlier? Just some clean stainless or chrome pipe on the turbo intake with a filter on the end and im in biz! haha

Great! You're gonna love the power when its on Just FYI, it might end up being a little more than a couple hundred bucks when its totally completed. Extra charges kill you on all the small things, but don't worry its all worth it in the end Have fun installing it, it ain't no weekend job, thats for sure.
