Just wondering.

Will the body off of a 2000 F250 fit on the frame of an 85?

I've been thinking of throwing a crew cab body on my reg cab frame and just chopping the bed.......But I was also thinking if I could find a newer crew cab body if it would fit on my frame.

Just more of my crazy ideas, feel free to discuss the subject

i would want to do just the opposite.
if i had to get a newer truck,it would be cool to set the older cabs on their frames and have the best of both worlds.
the updated drive trains, with the older better looking styling.
'99 forward = not my thing.

Yeah, the newer cabs don't looks as mean as the older style cabs, but you have to admit, those seats and leg room sure looks nice for long trips

Here's the truck that got me started on the idea of a crew cab:

i am trying to figure out how to graft a superduty dash and computer into a 78 cab.
i have a 2000 superduty 4X4 with a 5.4 that only has 12,000 miles on it.
the cab was crushed by a tree. i have a spotless 78 cab and bed on a 2 wheel drive frame that needs an engine, front end, and brakes.

6.0 isn't my thing...but you can see in this video where he grafted the newer dash into the 62 cab.

I'm not a member of other sites, so i don't know what that link is for...but what about an Excursion body?
By the time you've got a crew cab on your regular cab/long bed chassis you might be lucky to have a 3 or 4 foot bed, so you might as well skip the bed idea and go for the Excursion...

Those 5" stacks are pretty clear...lol

So this rig is sitting on a regualr cab/long bed superduty chassis with a Cummins?
10.5 rear axle is a give-away for a superduty. 60 could go either OBS or Superduty. ZF5 with a 1345? Didn't the ZF5's all come with a 1356?

It's a neat rig, but what would you use the bed for? I could see it driving out into the woods with whole family and hauling camping gear in the bed, but you could still do that with an Excursion.

The tires are 36" in diameter, so the bed is really about 4' or 4.5' long...I think a Ford ranger short bed might even be better...and be more useful since this rig is so tall and hard to load stuff in the bed hahaha

Yeah, that bed wouldn't be worth ***** to haul stuff in, but for someone like me it would be fine, big enough to haul and engine, or tools.

The best part about that truck is it has a cummins, so it's really just a tow rig.

Forget the Excurssion just convert a Bronco lol! If you have the fab skills and time you can build anything you want. I must admit I have way more into my truck than it will ever be worth but part of that is the fact that I have changed it so many times. After you start on something like this you are never happy to just leave it be!
