I ended up getting 3c379t517ag from Mid Tenn ford parts for $57 to my door. I talked to bill. There are some errors on the website so I put the order through the phone. Great guy to deal with.
Great Deal..Every time you think you got a good deal..Someone comes up with a better one..Great Find!!!
I got my spring kit today. It looks like it replaces every part of the reg. Besides the blue spring, what else did they change on the reg. I would like to only replace the spring and key hole shaped o-ring and save the other new parts if I need them later.
Sorry. Just got on and saw your post. I just did this project yesterday. The kit has some extra pieces that you won't need on your 06 model regulator. I replaced the spring, the brass poppet valve (because there is an O-ring on this item), the cover O'ring (key hole shaped), and the kidney shaped plastic piece (white) toward the top of the regulator (because there is an O-ring on the back side of this piece. Be careful when removing the white plastic piece. The O-ring is on the back side and mine stayed in the regulator housing. I had to fish it out of its groove. There is also an O-ring in the cover where the fuel line plugs in. I replaced this as well with the aqua blue o-ring in the kit. No sense in taking a chance in having a leak after you're done.
Overall, a pretty simple upgrade once you get all the other stuff out of the way. I saw a 12 lb increase in fuel pressure after the upgrade. At idle I was sitting at 52 psi before and now I'm sitting at 64 psi after.
The international kit mentioned on the first page came with the blue spring, poppet, keyhole gasket and all other gaskets for the fuel lines. Only thing it did not have was the little white piece with the oring behind it.

It was also around 24 bux after tax...
Nice! I called the int dealership near me and it was not that cheap... good find!
I ended up just putting in the spring and key hole gasket. I am saving the other parts for the future. I was at 50psi with the bb. When I first put the new spring in it was at 60, as I drove more miles and did a good amount of WOT runs, it would drop to 40-30 at WOT or so. Then after about 12 miles it stayed at 68-70. At WOT it stayed at 60 with my STREET tune.
Okay....I think I may need to do this job too. This regulator housing....is it the unit under the hood that holds the fuel filter? If so....mine is sweating fuel and smells really really bad (diesel). In fact, the smell is really bad inside the cab.
this regulator is on the side of the fuel filter housing on top of the engine. drivers side next to the oil filter housing. i did the blue spring mod while i was at it. got the spring , orings etc. at the intl. dealer for around $30. a few guys posted the part # earlier, i cant remember right now. easy to do and raised fuel psi to around 65-68 from 45.

That's it.
The cover is held on by 4 T27 torx screws and faces toward the air filter.
It seems leakage of the regulator is a growing problem as I've read several posts now over the past couple months involving leakage at the regulator. Even mine was leaking but I didn't discover it until I installed my fuel pressure gauge. I actually thought the leakage was due to an improperly seating adapter fitting in the test port. But now that I've upgraded the spring and replaced all the seals in the regulator, no more leakage. Yea.....
I drove it again tonight and at idle it is a 60psi and yesterday it was at 70... Then at wot it will drop to 40-50. Sometimes it will be at 50, another at 40. Each wot run gets me up to 80 then I let off... so I will get a new pressure gauge before I look for a new pump... The gauge I have was $20 from harbor freight tools. So before I jump the gun on a new pump I will get a new pressure gauge and see what happens...
But if it is my pump, it is still giving me good pressure, just not a wot... Once my pump really gets bad, and has a difficult time giving me good pressure, then I will replace it.
