Ok trying to decide on the exuast for our truck need a little help. All questions pretain to a 1972 F-100 sport custom 2wd.
The truck has a 351m in it now with almost new twin lines. We are swaping in a 302. First question is If I put stock manifolds on it will the exuast line up and hook up to the 302 without any mods?
Second questions is what style header would be the best to run so it clears everything. And is there a header that will line up with the stock exuast or will I have to modify it.
No, the 302 won't line up with a 351M's exhaust. Are you sure it's an M though? It is possible but they never came factory in these trucks...
Although long tube headers are possible, you're asking about easiest and among the easiest installs I've ever done have been with shorties. A set of shorty headers for a 5.0 Mustang make a pretty easy setup.
