Has anyone came up with a solution to eliminate the key-in chime on the 2010's yet? I did the wire snip thinggy on my '05 and it was simple and didn't affect anything else. I wish there was a similar cure for my '10 but it's got a lot more stuff on it and I don't want to disable anything other than the key-in chime. I use my truck around the farm a lot and hunt out of it a good bit and it is SO aggravating taking the key out everytime you need to hop out for a minute.
On a praise note- I really love this truck. Decided to go with the '10 Screw Lariat 4x4 and the 5.4 and got all the rebates. Ended up getting Nav/Sync radio, lariat chrome and lariat plus pkg's that I probably wouldn't have gotten without the rebates. I believe it's the quietest cab I've ever ridden. Great job Ford!
Yeah, its an auto unlock feature so that if you leave your keys in the ignition and hit the door locks, they automatically unlock to prevent locking your keys in the truck. I've got a key pad so disabling this won;t be a problem.
I don't like the seat belt chime either, but the seat belt unbuckle chime sounds nice. I might just try the disconnect and plug as shown on the link video.
You may already know this but the seat belt chime is easy to turn off per the owners manual.
BTW...did the key-in delete today and it worked great. What a relief! As far as I can tell nothing else whatsoever is affected. I was worried that it might affect the easy entry feature but it doesn't. Now if I could eliminate those 4 chimes every time you crank it up I'd have everything covered.
