Yeah, that's interesting. I can't really make out for sure what that is but I guess it could be shaking up and down. That would be some quite concerning movement if so. It's too bad people have such crappy pictures of something they want $3000 for. I guess they have to call me back for me to find out more. Good eye, though!

I missed an opportunity to buy an '05 escape last week for 750 bucks because they didnt have a phone number, just email, and buddy wouldn't respond to my emails.

That's a suspiciously low price for an '05.

owner said it needed an engine, I suspected it was several cylinders misfiring from a bad ECU as is common with those

So, here's something that came up recently. In another ad, the seller mentions using starter fluid on it. That makes me very uneasy. Using starter fluid on these engines is dangerous and you should never need it if the glow plug system is working. Should I even call and if I do look at it what should I look for as far as damage from starting fluid?

Amazing Truck And Great MPG

Well, I spoke to the owner of the white F250. He has owned it for three weeks but has to sell it because he got hurt at work and has doctor bills. He said he has to squirt starting fluid in the intake in the morning to get it going. That is not good on one hand but good on another. The fact it can start the rest of the day with obviously bad glow plugs means good compression, right? He didn't know if the starting fluid is ether based but he did not see ether on the can. From what I have heard, ether is BAD and regular starting fluid is a little less bad. Would a blow-by test tell me if there is damage from starting fluid?

He said he gets 20-25MPG on the highway so I think the IP, injectors, and timing are good.
