Charlie, any more pictures of that black truck or yours? I'm digging the bowtie bumper up front. I'm considering a smooth front valance, but would really like a bumper to protect the sheetmetal.
Craigslist for the win... just scored a '55-'57 chevy front bumper for 5 bucks!
I'll get some pics posted when I get to a point that they're worth posting
Now that I saved all that money on a bumper I still have plenty of money to go to the Early Bird Swap Meet in Puyallup this weekend...
They are rear bumpers from a rambler station wagon 1959-60, They were a pretty close fit, I fabed the brackets out of some 3/16" material with a plasma cutter. I cant really take credit for the idea, I saw it on the HAMB and started asking questions too. Another bumper close in style and fit is a split set-up from a Pontiac, 60's era. feel free to contact me if you need additional help.
Rick-
Those look sweet... great job!
I'm going to go with the '55 bowtie bumper i just picked up, but am going to make sure to wrap the ends around the edges of the fender a bit deeper than the pics CharlieLED posted, more like the bumperettes on your truck... the black pickup looks sweet, and the bumper looks like it belongs, but that extra depth looks a little more like the sweet cars of this era...
Just as a heads up on the 55-57 Chevy bumper...I cut about 5 inches off the ends of the bumper because the Chevy bumper got too narrow when I trimmed it to fit the Ford fenders. With the bumperettes pictured on the yellow truck they are split in the middle so you could slide them in or out to fit the curve of the Ford fender...I guess you could cut the Chevy bumper in the center and then widen it if you really wanted a deeper wrap-around.
