Well got off work today and went to start the truck and it will turn over but won't fire. I just put a brand new Optima red top on it last night. I crossed the syloniod over and still nothing. I am figuring its the GPR because the WTS light is taking a good 30 seconds to go off. Any ideas? Please help me out.
Man I just drove through Bristol and it was cold! I was surprised mine fired right up in Knoxville when it got a little below zero. My big fuel tank gelled like crazy there overnight with a double dose of howes fuel treatment in it. Maybe yours did too.
The GPR is only there to aid in cold starts. It stays on for about 90 seconds usually. The WTS light has nothing to do with the GPR actually, it's just a friendly reminder. Is the tach moving when you crank it?
The RPMs jump up to about 500 while cranking and the voltage gauge stayed a little below normal while cranking. Again the battery hasn't been on there 24 hrs yet. I was sitting on a little below a 1/4 tank of fuel. If its gelled what should I do?

Batteries should definitely be replaced in pairs.
Next test- any smoke out the tail pipe when cranking? Check fuse #22 under the hood and if its blown, unplug the fuel bowl heater and replace the fuse.

I only replaced one battery because it was so pricey. Tried to check that fuse and didnt know where to look. I didnt think about fuse box under the hood. It was smoking white with a little black tint while cranking. The reason I thougt the GPR is because it has been smoking when starting. The truck is at my work about ten minutes from where I live, when the boss gets home I will ride out the and check fuse #22.

If you are getting smoke out the tail pipe then the fuse is probably fine. Turn they key on, wait 90 seconds to 2 minutes, then try to start it. If you aren't sure if your GPR is in good health you could jump the 2 large terminals on the GPR to ensure that the glow plugs are being energized.
Test it before you replace it. Jump the terminals for 90 seconds or so. Or if you have a volt meter, measure the voltage drop across the relay. Shouldn't drop more than 1v across the 2 big terminals.
20-25 sec
did you have the other battery tested cause if it's bad then it could draw down the new battery and give you two weak batteries these things realy need to spin over fast to start when it's cold

Yesterday when I got off the primary battery was died and the truck wouldnt start at all not even when trying to jump it. Went to advanced and got the optima, went back to where I work put the new battery on and truck fired right up. This morning the truck started good considering the temps was ab 10 degrees and I didnt even plug it up. When I got off work today it was turning over but wouldnt start.
