Ignition Switch

Ok, I'm having a few problems with my 67 F100 again. The ingition switch fell apart and I put a newer one in from a 72 F100, it starts but now my brake light switch wont work. Is there a way to get the ignition key switch out of the starting switch?? The brakelight switch has power to it and shuts it off but no brake lights. Next issue is that I replaced the steering column and had to rewire that nightmare. Prior to this most of the wires were cut and had no t/s lights or hazards. Hooked it all up and front maker lights and hazzards in dash come on when started but do not blink. ??? Any help would be great!!

"Is there a way to get the ignition key switch out of the starting switch??" Huh, can you ask that differently??

I'd say you didn't get everything hooked up correctly when you swapped out the column.

You need a circuit tester like the one in my photo album to check for hot wires.

Replacing the ign switch is plug & play, you shouldn't have changed anything there.

The 67 ignition switch has 4 spades and a post in the middle. The one I put in has 6 spades but only used 5. Also the 67 did not have the acc feture where the newer on does.

What I was asking about the switch, Is does the key lock cylinder come out of the switch so my keys will match??

thanks for the help!!

With the key in the switch turn it to the ACC position, insert a paper clip into the little hole and now turn the key flat. It should pull out.

You should be able to swap them.

A 1971/72 ignition switch is in-correct for a 1967, cannot be wired properly, may short out and catch fire!

C7UZ11572A .. Ignition Switch (Motorcraft SW583).

Fits: 1967 F100/500 & Econoline / 1967/77 Bronco.
