pyrometer question

pyrometer question

can i use a banks pyrometer that came in the cummins package in the truck? i already have a trans temp and and a boost just need the pyro and would like to use this banks one if possible. thanks guys

You should be able to. I would look at getting a new probe though...

A pyro is a pyro, as long as you have the gauge head, lead wire and the probe you'll be fine.

id take a lighter or something and test the probe before you install

Propane torch, a lighter isn't gonna put out much heat.

its brand new never been used or installed. it also came with the probe(new), wiring, gauge head and a 2 gauge mount.

The key is to make sure the thermocouple used (probe) is the proper "Type" for use with the gauge. Most (not all) use a Type K and tehy usually interchange between sources without any issues.
