Hey, guys... I'm in the 7.3L forum the most, but my Dad just recently got some new tires (325/65/18's) for his '08 F-250 and I wanted to use my AE to change the tire size as well as possibly reconfigure the tire pressure sensors to stop freaking out at the 60-65PSI the tires are rated at. I don't know if the latter is possible, but I do know the former is. When I went to do it, it came back saying something to the effect of "Test Failed: incorrect state of vehicle/vehicle status/vehicle orientation." I can't remember... plus, it would also send some kind intermittent brake error message across the info center along with lighting the cluster. As soon as I'd pull the OBDII connector, it'd go away.
To start, what are the initial connection parameters? Are they the same as my 7.3L? Anybody have any info or know where I could find some good info on AE and the 6.4L? Thanks, guys... I appreciate it!
The second question is easy as long as he has the little clicker looking thing in the glove box. Its gray with a green button that flashesa red led when u push it. If he does, set the tire psi to whatever u want and go into the TPMS reset procedure in the manual and then it will reset to whatever u set it too.

Well for some reason, now the truck is reading the TPMS just fine and it's gone from the info center. So now I just need to figure out what's up with the tire size changer... I'll give it a shot tonight so I can give y'all a direct quote!
Another bump... I have a couple screen shots, too. Here's the one of the tire change error:
Also, after having it plugged into my truck for about five minutes, the cluster lights up without the rest of the truck and I get some "cluster communication error". Why is that? All I do is connect to and disconnect from the PCM a few times... makes no sense! Here's a screen shot where you can see the codes... it shows up twice as some kind of communication error with a "body control module":
Am I stuck then? I've got this awesome program that works awesome for my truck, my cousin's, Mom's Expedition, but it's not working too well with my Dad's '08 F-250 and the program is good for vehicles up to '10... anybody got any ideas?
Yeah, and it's only when I connect or disconnect... I read it's related to a break in the data link between the Control Body Module and the PCM. I'm thinking it's irrelevent and is because I "break" the data link when I disconnect my computer... I'm still ticked with the tire size change. Called AE and the guy was of no help so, I'm gonna try the Ford tech...
A/E assumes you should know everything already and the manual is a little lame
some test require brake ,steering, tow haul button input to run the test but it doen's tell u how ?
don't get me wrong it's a great product and I have met the inventor but a manual for dummies would be cool

Yeah, but usually it'll say something about that in the test window... I know for my cousin's '03 6.0L, it mentioned steering, brakes, Tow/Haul, etc.
But I'll say, my local dealer is pretty good... called the guy and he said with the new vehicles, they may not authorize programs other than Ford programs to make changes like the older vehicles. But he did say they could make the tire size change... I asked them how that was when I was told they wouldn't do my truck. He said it's because of the way Ford updates their programs. He said alot of times, they won't keep vehicles in the database for much longer than 10 years... sometimes not even that long. Since my truck is that old (I never saw my truck as being old... HAHA!!!), he said I was probably told that because their database didn't support it anymore. It kinda sucks, but either way, makes a bit more sense now. So yeah, guess I'll be sending Dad up to the dealer!
suck because the dealer will hit him for one hour at $110 probably
Here, it's $85/hr... but he said it'll probably be more like $40 because it won't take an hour to do it. They really are good over here... they don't rip you off quite as bad as some dealers do.
I know you had the tire size window up in a screen shot but did u go thru this?
When AE asks you for the make and model, click the drop down menu at the bottom and click on abs module. Then go to on board tests I think and tire size recalibration will be one of the tests available.

Yup! It was the ABS system in the menu... I'm stumped. We'll see if it does it to the dealer. If so, then I'm gonna be calling Jody from DP-Tuner and see what he says.
