hello all, im wondering if this box can be used to convert my steering in my hiboy to an integral set up. reason i ask about this box specifically is because i have a 78 150 parts truck. are there differences between int he box from 1/2 tons to 3/4 tons?
Have to make an intermediate shaft ,Mount the box , may need to clock the pitman arm ,& add what ever is needed to hook to the arm on the axle ...
It will look similar to the kit you are looking at ...
by intermediate shaft you mean the one that goes to the steering wheel? im not really worried about the fabbing, its what i do, but im just trying to figure out what exactly im in for

You will need U joints that fit , (or made to fit )the steering shaft ,from the column to the box .. the lines from the original pump should work fine . After mounting the box , you will need to fab a tie rod from the box to the truck ..It is probability the easiest way to go . Mine needed chevy parts , this will be all ford .. I have a 2 wd at work , I can look at it tomorrow and tell you what you will need .

I went out today to look at the 2 two wheel drive trucks I have , both 78-9 . It looks as though the steering box would work , but may be a bit taller than I would want to use.
The Frame would have to be boxed in & the box itself would have to sit fairly high in the engine compartment . You would be able to use the cross over steering set up , but it looks to be a great deal of trial & error to get what you need.
I have a 78 4WD out back too , It uses the push pull steering without a valve or a slave cyl. The box is 4 bolt mounted to the frame & is a powered unit ...
