WIRING HELP!
We have checked our wiring, and all the switches, we need a TECA, it seems this might be the Achilles’ heel of our trucks, if it goes out, the truck is done. Hopefully someone on this list has knows a source for a rebuilder !!!
since ford had electronic fuel injection before there were diesels the relay has always been called the EEC. power relay
stands for electronic engine control.
this relay normally supplies power to the processor but also to the transmission
so when it is off there is no electrical power to either unit
it has a hot wire (power at all times) from battery
it has a red feed wire going to the componets which is power out from relay
there is a trigger wire from the ignition switch (power with key in on position)
and the forth wire is ground for the relay
the relay is located on the left fender apron
if it is a dually there is a second relay for the rear fender marker lights
the tcm is located in the left firewall directly behind the inner fender
it has a 60pin connector with a 10mm head bolt securing the connector into the tcm

We have been told by Ford 1991 is a stand alone year, do you know if this is correct?
Thanks for the help !

recheck a couple of items before buying a tcm.
first there are three terminals on the tcm that require 12 volts
pin 1 should have power at all times key off and key on
pin 37 and 57 shoudl have power with key on
all three must have power with key on
with the key on check the red wire at the transmission bulkhead connector and it should have 12 volts with the key on
if any of these arenot powered the tcm and trans will not work
also pins 20 40 and 60 must be grounded
i have seen tcm,s condemned because there is power at pin 1 but pins 37 and 57 are not powered they recieve their power from the eec. power relay just as the trans does
