Transfer Case HELPPPPP
My brother inlaw has a 98 F250 LD. He has auto hubs, and electric shift on the dash. Recently we tried to shift it into 4wd and nothing happens, no light or anything. That has lead me to believe his transfer case motor is bad.
What im wondering is if we can take the actuator motor off the tcase and just shift it into 4wd manually (its just his yard truck)? Will this also lock in the hubs too? Any info is greatly apreciated!! Thanks!

I have a similar recent post. Not exactly sure what the solution is but i do know on my 2003 with the borg-warner t-case when i took the shift motor off, you could manually shift the t-case with a screw driver. the case was marked as well for 2wd, 4wd H and 4wd L which helped a ton. unfortunately (at least in my case with the 8.8 front diff) there is a vacuum operated lever on the front differential that needed to be engaged for the front diff to turn. i just set the lever and tied it with bailing wire to hold it.
