Best decision ever made on the blocks. A friend of mine bought a 77 chebby that had 4 inch blocks on the front if you can believe it. He drove it anyway. Luckily though, the frame at the steering box cracked (common problem) and it was all over the road, so he parked it. The blocks were actually worn from rocking back and forth. I don't know what kept it together but I'd say it's a possibility a higher power cracked that frame just in time

before

after adding the lift and getting rims and 37s, just realized the driver side tires are on with the tread going the wrong direction oops ill fix em tomorrow. yeah im happy i got rid of them, one of em blocks had a crack down the middle already. scary to think it might of gone anytime. let me know what you guys think. in the 1st after pic the rear add a leaf had not been installed yet.

Scary is not it going, but what happens right after that. SMART CALL ON GETTING RID OF THEM AND PUTTING IN A CORRECT LIFT!

yeah i dont know why the previous owner would of thought it was a good idea to have em on there.

Cheap way to lift the front end, not smart but cheap, yea some peoples kids......

Highboy ident help

Im trying to figure out if my truck is a high boy. My last 6 digits of my vin are x82103. This is what i have figured out so far:: it has a divorced transfer case the leaf springs are 2 1/4" wide Please any help would be great. My truck is a 1977 f250 custom 4wd

With the divorced xfer case and 2 1/4" wide rear leaf springs, YES you have a HB.

Really confused

My f250 is 77 vin numbers is f26hex82103. It has a divorced transfer case. Metal stock blocks in the rear it also has the front support of the front of the frame it even has 8 lug wheel pattern but going by what you guys are saying an the vin number its not a highboy ,but it has all the signs that its. Please help thanks tom

X is before Y. Y200..... Was the last factory highrider. I have an X serial number truck... It has 3 drivelines... Guess what... Highboy.


I guess it is a point of contention but the factory highrider or highboy is just a design, just a way to address the geometry of the drivelines. The frame is different, yes but functions the same as any other Ford Truck Chassis. I apologize but there are numerous posts about the subject.
