2005 Escape Dashboard/Gauges issue
1) Since this has started happening, the ABS and engine lights are always on when the gauges are working.
2) The fuel gauge does not always come back on when the temp, tach and speedo do. Sometimes it comes on a few minutes later, but it will always shut down when they all go dead.
3) At night, all dashboard lights go out including the radio lights and the shifter column. The radio continues to work and the fog light indicator stays lit.
4) On occasion, the airbag light will flash a few times and then stay solid. This is the rarest of the oddities, but seems to be happening more frequently the last few days.
A friend suggested disconnecting the battery and leaving it for about a half hour to "reset the computer". The only thing that accomplished was to clear the engine light but that returned after the first "blackout"
My vehicle is a 2005 with 83,000 miles. I had the battery and alternator replaced about 2 months ago. This new thing didn't happen til about 6 weeks after that.
Is it maybe just a fuse? Where do I start? Am I gonna be able to tell if the fuse is bad?
Thanks for any help or insight.

You will likely find a loose connection or corrosion.
My battery box[bought used] had corroded so much the heads of 3 of 4 bolts had disappeared. Wonder where that acid went .. washing down onto the inner fender to who knows where... The paint on the transmission front side pan had been eaten away in areas, and the support bracket for the battery box was very rusty and paintless.
