We had about 8" of snow over night that changed to rain about an hour before I left for work. This makes is slicker than goose poop. To top it off I have a incline in my driveway and a steep inclination of a road for about 3 blocks from my house to the top of the hill in our Cul-de-Sac.
In my old 99 dodge 2WD I would have taken either forever and lots of swearing to get up or would have had to wait for the rain to clear it some.
My New Ford I just dropped in 4Low and up I went happy as a clam.
Ive always been a I dont need a 4WD truck person. I bought this as a recommendation from several people in my RV club as insurance if something happens to me the wife would have an easier time selling it.
Ive been changed, I wish I had 4WD a lot sooner than I did.
Glad you switched from the 'dark side'. Sorry, just couldn't resist. Most people say they have never needed 4wd, I say they just haven't been in the wrong place at the wrong time. congrats on your purchase.
4wd...for those tough places especially when towing. Congrats on coming to the dark side.
Hey now, he switched from the dark side...haha!
4x4 comes in handy when you do need it.
It is amazing what you can do with a 4x2 but 4x4 makes it easier and safer. Just be sure to use it from time to time.
If I have not needed 4x4 for over a month, I engage it for a half mile or so using a straight low traffic road near my office and drive around 20 MPH or so just to let it move the pieces and parts that need worked from time to time. Disable before any turns.
BTW - that's just what I do. I've heard an array of opinions.
