I have a 77 F-150 with a Lincoln 460. the left (sitting in the cab) motor mount is broken the previous owner had taken a log chain and chained it down. now i can't even change the oil 'cause the motor is leaning too far. I looked in LMC and they said that all the motor mounts were not for a lincoln motor but the thing had motor mounts
I swapped a 460 Lincoln into my 76 F-100 2wd. I used L & L motor mounts. No problem. Not sure that there is any difference between the Lincoln and Ford mounts.
there was a Lincoln 462 iirc but you probably just have a standard 460 that happened to come out of a linclon.
the 429/460 casting numbers indicate that they are all (up until 79 that is) originally cast for use in the Lincolns that does NOT make them a Lincoln motor.
don't get me wrong but I am a truck driver and am building this truck for fun and also that i love old ford trucks. so I am kind of illeterate in these things
that is what i was thinking but the motor is VERY strong was pulled out of a '72 Lincoln town car and put into a '66 gta and is strong
My motor has been built. It hasn't been dynoed, but an educated guess is somewhere north of 450 HP. Way more than any stock motor. No problems with the L & Ls. I know some other guys have used other mounts with no issues as well. I'm not familiar with them, but I can recommend the L & L. they are way beefier than the stock mounts. If you do a search I think you will find a couple of old threads on this topic.
