On the passenger side, getting to the valve cover bolts and oil rail bolts are a PITA for the ones next to the air-box.. How have other folks done it? I know for the valve cover bolts a speed wrech will do the job afer you remove the fendor trim.. However what tool are people using to get the T30 torx screw out with? Using a normal 1/4" ratchet with torx bit is too tall..

My bits fit my gear wrench (8 or 10) plus I have a 1/4" drive breaker bar. That loose bit makes me nervous though, so be careful. Easy to get down an oil hole.
What he said, get gear wrenchs flex head and fixed. Also harbor F sells adapters to fit the gear wrench that will hold T bits and 1/4 drive sockets. Gives low clearance you need.
Thanks for the flex head tip, totally didn't think about that.. I have done this one already using a torx bit and 1/4" wrench.. What a pain that was, the whole time i was scared of dropping the bit into the head..
Would you guys have a link to the tool on the harbor freight website?
On the passengers side to get to the lower 2 valve cover and oil rail bolts. You have to remove the inner fender liner. Once that's out of the way you can slip a wrench on those bolts and loosen enough to get em out with your fingers. Hope it helps, I just changed out #3 on Saturday. Easy job just a PITA to get too. Good luck
I'm lucky enough to have long skinny arms and don't have to remove the fender liner to get the back two valve cover bolts. Saves LOTS of time. Oil rail??? NO HELP but to say take your time. Also helps to use a tap to clean the holes before you reinstall the bolts.
