suggestions on mods

Ok guys tax time is coming and I wanna make a little wish list. My current mods are listed in my profile so check them out. I have already decided on rosewood stage one's. Now I need to know what kind of 3" dp, hpop, a custom tuned chip, and a turbo. I was thinking about a D66 turbo. I pull a 5000lb boat and a trailer or two whenever someone needs help. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks a bunch.

d66 is just a fancied up stock turbo.
Keep what you got and spend the money on more useful things like an intercooler.

Couldn't find the current list on your profile page....

I'd make sure that it breathes easier before adding more fuel.

if you have the AT, I'd make sure you had a decent fluid cooler, too, and a good shift kit before "improving" the engine.

Diamond eye 3" downpipe with 4" straight pipe.
Terminator Modded 17* HPOP
D66 - It's a good upgrade to your stocker and its a direct replacement. It will be perfect for your stage 1's.
chip - you chose. It's a "pick your poison" type thing. There are many to choose from, start making calls and talk to the tuners, pick which one drives the nicest truck.
Like said above, if you have an auto, look into protecting that with either a valve body or shift kit and a larger cooler.
Gauges - At least a pyro gauge to keep an eye on temps
Intercooler might be a good idea to think about as well since you'll be towing.

In my personal opinion, you'd be better off upgrading to a modded SD turbo for stage 1's than a d66.
Cheaper too, and better service available for the SD turbo.

Just ask glenn how good beans service is.

While I won't argue about Glenn's experience with Bean's, I can't agree that an SD turbo is an upgrade of any sort for an OBS truck. That's a lot of squeezing for a little juice. Even if you can get all the necessary parts for a good deal, it's still not an upgrade.

I'm with Chase, It is only cheaper if you find a wrecked SD somewhere and even then, its alot of work. Where as a D66 is literally take off the old turbo and put the new one on and it will be plenty for his stage 1's.

I'm thinking you're better off with the stock turbo and put the money towards an intercooler. DIY an intercooler for about 400 bucks. Unless your tax rebate is that big, then go with all of it!!

Yeah it is a AT. I have already got an external cool on it I believe. The tranny is built already. The guy I bought it off of did all that and just left the motor stock. It has the MRBP 4" exhaust. I just need the down pipe for that. My main goal is DP, a chip and injectors(which I've already decided on) and as far as motor I believe I am good. My main goal is to pick up a little more top end. The torque is amazing on this truck. It has good take off but seems to lose power.

Ok so here is what I've came up with
Terminater 17" HPOP
Diamond eye 3" DP
Glow shift gauges: pyro, boost, and trans temp
Rosewood stage ones
Perfmance chip (unknown)
203 T-stat
Anymore ideas would be good. Thanks again

Ok guys this thread has been dead for a while but I was gonna update everyone without starting a new one. I am ordering a 203* stat tonight a 6637 intake from riffraff ( I'm gonna replace the S an B and sell it), glowsift gauges, and am having a muffler delete put in this afternoon. I need to know where to order some glowplugs and I am egging the wife to let me get some rosewood stage ones. How does all that sound?

Sounds good, but is your t-stat bad? No real need to put the 203* in if the stock one is doing its job...If it ain't broke, no need to fix it.

As far as your upgrades...Intake, exhaust, gauges, injectors and then chip. That will really wake your truck up and it looks like you've got a good start. For glow plugs, just go down to O'riellys and get Motorcraft ZD-11's.

There is no real benefit to a 203° stat, and many people have had problems with them operating incorrectly. If your stat is fine, leave it alone. If it's acting up, just replace it with a stocker.
