Well the reason for the stat is bc the temp doesn't get warm on the gauge it stays just below the N even in the summer. When I pull my 26' boat it barely gets to the O and that when I really pour it on.

Ok guys this thread has been dead for a while but I was gonna update everyone without starting a new one. I am ordering a 203* stat tonight a 6637 intake from riffraff ( I'm gonna replace the S an B and sell it), glowsift gauges, and am having a muffler delete put in this afternoon. I need to know where to order some glowplugs and I am egging the wife to let me get some rosewood stage ones. How does all that sound?
Do you have gauges?
If not you will really need a pyrometer at a minimum.
Get in touch with me if you want. We have a couple of people near you that have modded trucks. We get together every now and then and turn wrenches. Maybe we could help you. PM works best.
I can probably save you some money on the 6637 from Riffraff also.
I don't mean to start anything, but I have been running the 203* stat from dieselsite for a month or so now and I am really pleased with it. But then again, to each his own, and I think my old stat was operating incorrectly. But compared to the other PSD I drive at work my truck seems to run warmer in the cold weather. Just my $.02. For what it's worth, regardless of what rating you go with on your stat, be sure you get a good one. A lot of guys have had trouble with cheap stats from AutoZone, Advance and the like. Your best bet in my opinion, is to get either the dieselsite 203* stat or get one from Ford/International/ Napa. The cheaper stats just don't seem to work reliably.
well from what i have read the 203* is what orginally came in a 7.3 but ford changed it to help met some kind of bs i cant remember what exactly. correct me if i am wrong but the warmer a diesel is the better it will run and the oil will thin up some to cause a better flow however you dont want it to get to warm or it starts to break the oil down
Do a search here and elsewhere on the 203° stat. There is no shortage of reading on people that have had bad luck with them. To each his own though.
Yeah, this is one of those issues that we don't all agree on; it's like asking a guy what oil is best for our engines. Or better yet, what oil change interval should be used with our trucks. No shortage on opinions here, but it seems there are quite a few on both sides of the fence. It's just one of those things on which we agree to disagree.
I just wanted to share my personal experience on the matter. The choice is yours! I honestly don't think that 8* makes that much difference. I went with this one mainly because I wanted a quality stat that was going to work for me for a while. We shall see.....
Well got my muffler delete an lost the kitty yesterday. WOW wish I would have done that a long time ago. The truck sounds great and seems to have a little more spunk. I am going to order set of glow shift gauges pyro, boost, and trans temp tonight. Also possibly the stat and intake. Neal I will call you this evening an maybe we can get together
