1999 PSD 4x4
Im looking at purchasing a 1999 f-250 4x4 with the 7.3l PSD and a 6 speed manual trans all with 153,000 miles and 4in exhaust, intake, hi volume fuel/water seprator and a programer. My question is how much more life can I expect out of the truck? Also how is the 6 speed that was put in these trucks? The guy is asking $10,500, it is a supercab and long bed. Is this a good price?

I've got over 350,000 miles on my 7.3 with a 6 speed with no problems. If the truck was well maintained, it can last a very long time. Inspect the air intake tube going to the turbo and make sure it's clean as a whistle in there. Any signs of dust or dirt can be very bad. Thats a very good price for that truck, if it was maintained right. Have the front end inspected for ball joints, tie rod ends and steering play, (all indicators that front end problems exist).
I picked up my 2000 automatic just like the one your looking at for $7500, but the body is nowhere near perfect, and thats fine with me. I don't need a show truck, just a fun truck.
Mine now has 247K on it, and runs great.

Ya definatly gonna check out the front end. Do these front ends have the same problems as the Dodge 2500 and 3500 front ends? Also how do these 6 spd's hold up? The truck is about 2.5-3 hrs away from where I live so I wanna get as many things to look for as possible before I make the trek. Here is the craigslist ad... 99 F-250 7.3 liter 6 spd xcab
