Recharging A/C

Good evening gents. Have been reading forum for months and love it, now I have my first (not last Im sure) tech question. 96 PS and A/C blows warm. I know its not the right time of year for most but it was in the high 70's a few days ago here in the great sunshine state and noticed the A/C not functioning correctly. The compressor kicks on and off. I bought one of those recharge in bottle from the parts store, however I cant seem to locate the Low Pressure port. The only port I found was on the driver side up front by the radiator. Since the refill bottle will not fit on that fitting I guess this is the high pressure side. No shop manual so I figured one of you fine gentlemen would be able to help out. Thanks in advance.

Its called an accumulator. its purpose is to keep any liquid refrigerant (freon) from getting back to the compressor.

Thank you very much, I found it. The funny thing is when I checked the compressor the first time it was clicking on and off. Now this time it looked like it tried to kick the clutch in and it spun for maybe 2-3 rotaions and quit. The bottle states that if the compressor does not kick on after 3 min than put half of the bottle in and see what happens. The pressure gauge is reading 70psi and now I am worried about over charge. How does the compressor know when to kick on?

That's exactly what mine did. It took 2 full bottles. IIRC the refrigerant bottle has to be turned upside down when you do it to get the liquid out of the can. After one bottle I was worried about overcharge too but it took the 2nd bottle and didn't raise the pressure much
