There's no reason to "attack" anyone. let me clarify:
In presenting ideas to this thread, it is absolutely essential that we address the subject in such a way as to promote people to feel free to participate by NOT putting them down in any way shape or form.
THAT is what I expect and am hoping for.
We are all (at one point or another) going to express views that will be at odds, one way or another, with someone else's viewpoint.
That's okay - it's what we're here for.
But there should not be any name calling of persons places or things. Including beliefs.
Am I clear enough on this point?
If so - we should continue.

In a thousand years, nobody will find an electronic record wherein some obscure member posted the statement "Dang, that guy was masterful!"
And I'm glad - because they won't find records of the negative comments either.... (he states, frustratedly)
In my book, terrorism is any act intended to cause lasting psychological harm, rather than the physical harm of war. If you really think about it, this whole WTC thing shook us up, and continues to do so, more than many previous conflicts. Yet it really was a small loss compared to real wars we have fought. The big part was that it was unexpected. That is what puts the terror in terrorism- the fear of the unknown/unexpected.
Take my post as an apology if you like, but I meant you personally no offense in the first place, only that IMHO the content of your post wasn't particulary valid to the topic of the thread. I could go into a long explanation of my thoughts as to why, but here's the meat.
1- The Bible is a bit like that excerise you did in school where you tell someone something, you pass it on through 30 people, and then see what you get back. Chances are the core meaning is still there, but the accuracy and details are lost.
2- The Bible can be interpreted any way you want, to support any argument you want, it's far from black and white.
I'm a Christian myself, and I'd be the last one to deny anyone their beliefs, see my post in NRAJOE's thread about Bush and God.
Greywolf, I think this is an excellent thread, and I hope that a lot more people will join in and express their thoughts, sorry it got temporarily derailed.
WAXY - I was kinda fascinated by NRAJOE's post, because of the apparent detail it presented.
Clarification of that one commandment, for one....
Yes - I hear you, and all is forgiven.
But I had to jump in right from the start in order to direct how this will go, or else we all know how it will ramble on out until it has no resemblance to the original thought.
(PS: Those "demerits" are entirely figurative, and actually affect little if anything. Call it an "attention getter"...)
Greywolf you sure do tend to jump right in on the abstract concepts with your threads. Really quite interesting in a way that I havent thought about. Challenges ones perspectives. great input from everyone. If I were grsding this as a class topic I probably would give all of you an A.

History will determine what all this is about in the literal sense.
The victor gets to writes the history.
A man who does not know his own history is lost.
