Is this worth my time?

So my dad has a 91 chevy truck with a 350 that has no compression in #8 (cracked piston or ring). Can I pull a piston\connecting rod from my wifes 89 350 (same thing cracked piston) and put it in dads?

You would have to research rod diameter of the piston pin and crank hole. I am sure the length is the same, but getting that far up in the years.. you need research! Good luck

bore and stroke comparisons of each motor and then the specs on the piston and rod will tell you if they are a match.

First things first. Pull the block down to see how bad the cylinder wall is. As far as rods & pistons, GM small block parts are as cheap as a box of Chicklets.

two engines in your fam, both have cracked pistons. doesn't say much for the motors durability. if it cracked 1 are the other 7 far behind or are they going to come apart right after you start it, after the rebuild.
