miss fire under load
2000 ranger 2.5, stick, 205,000 miles. I have one or two momentry miss fires under load when i accelerate from a stop. mostly in first gear, and only if i give it say half throtle or more. The CEL has never come on and other than the miss fire under load it runs perfect, starts ez. The miss fire is very sharp and breif which feels like an electrical issue. As the 2.5 engine has 8 plugs, (2 per cylinder) and because the driver side is had to get to . . . I replaced the 4 plugs and wires only on the passenger side which did not change anything, so now Im stumped. Anybody have any ideas what to check next? (I have no cel so theirs no codes to read). thanks

Here is a link with coil testing info. You will need an ohmeter( preferably with a digital readout) to perform it. Can get one at harbor freight. advance auto, home depot if don't own one. They don't cost much.
