They will work, but the metal is very very thin and in many times the shipping can really dent the metal up. If you get lucky, and get one that doesn't have the dents from shipping that they can work OK, but still no where near factory metal.
Agreed. I'm just saying it isn't a big deal to put a long side on a short box.
I think the demand will always be there, but there aren't as may shortbeds on the road as longbeds so that may hinder a company from producing a shortbed. And especially if it's not to big a deal to cut down a long bed to fit. Long bed or short bed, I just want to see someone repduce a quality product.
I would love to have some good bed sides available but i found some back east and they want a $1,000 for the pair and that is just a lil much in my opinion.
i would definately love them. when restoring my crew cab had to buy full size and cut them down. them made brilliant mistake of trusting somebody to do bodywork.
While these are a great thing I think that the vast majority of us want a panel that has not been modified.
Why would I care if the panel was modified or not? As long as its a well done job it wouldnt bother me in the slightest. If I am willing to buy an aftermarket bedside why would a modified matter?
While these are a great thing I think that the vast majority of us want a panel that has not been modified.
I agree with that. That is exactly what I would be looking for. A unmolested straight single piece of metal without cuts and shortening and welding. Long beds have them, why not short beds??
