4WD to 2 WD

I would like to convert my1991 XLT Larait 4WD with a 4.9L to 2 WD. Is this a big job and is it worth the trouble???

Free the front hubs and leave it on 2hi...

Seems to me anything beyond that wouldn't be worth the trouble...
