Boy, what a difference a few days make. Incredible deals were in play for most of the 4th quarter with Ford. Up to $7,500 on the F-150 XLT. Now? $1,500. I still can't figure out WHY people buy at this time of the year unless they either have to or have a boat-load of cash sitting around.
Well I did'nt HAVE to buy now but I just got a FANTASTIC deal on a Brand New 2010 STX...For $13,500 and my old truck (06 STX) I drove away in a $35,000 Truck...Works for me... Joe

astraelraen: You are so right. My apology. Yesterday the Ford website ONLY showed rebates up to $1,500 on 10's. Ditto with Edmunds. Today they (rebates) are showing:

it's funny how that incentive varies from dealer to dealer........
i stopped by a dealer that is right off the road as i'm going home. i drove in there with "XXXXXXX" dealer name on the tail gate...... the good ol sales man in the golf cart saw me driving through the lot and hod to stop and ask (he thought mine was an 09 for some reason), and asked if i picked one out that i liked? i said i sure did, i'm sitting in it...... he kinda frowned and said to bad you didn't get it here we'd have beat their price........ so i called their bluff..... i told him they went down to $500 under dealer cost on this 2010 at "XXXXXX" dealer..... he said "oh dam that's a 10 model, i thought you had an 09 looking to upgrade. well a longer story short, the sales manager skipped on out there to boast that he could have made a better deal....... TILL i showed him my receipt! i told him what they dropped the sticker to, and what they gave me on my trade in, and his jaw dropped, then when he saw the proof he said i can't come with in 1500 of that sticker price.......
so tell me why 15 miles down the road saved me $1500 on the same truck with the same package (just different color)?!?!
i tried dealing with the "other dealer" and when i heard about all the rebates, it was like pulling teeth to get them to admit to them (then they didn't even tell me all of them)...... then went to "XXXX" dealer and right off the bat they started shelling out the rebates. they listed all the rebates, here's your sticker price, lets deal.... then i hammered them for more off the sticker price before i even asked them what they would give for a trade in value.
we're just waiting on the first bill to do our one lump sum to Ford motor credit, and maybe in Nov and Dec they'll have the same killer rebates, or we'll rock this awesome F150 for a couple years and then upgrade again.
