it's just the studs and nuts,they are made out of hardened stainless steel ver normal hardened steel used early on. if your doing the job,have the manifolds planned before you put them back on. due to how long they aremthey tend to warp in the middle cylinder areas.
reinstalling them warped will cause extra strain on the new studs .

My '01 came from the factory with stainless studs, but plain steel nuts which welded themselves to the manifolds. Which caused them to fatigue the stainless studs every time the manifold heats up and expands and cools down and contracts.
I think the "upgraded" nuts are copper plated to keep the rust from welding the nuts to the manifold.

good point art! but with the 4.6 and 5.4 useing the same stud and how common a problem this is, they should not be the old stuff.
it's only a 8mm or about 5/16th , small stud for a big job.
