Welcome to FTE
You mean the driveshaft ended up in the street. What do you man by "link?"
Does the truck have a one piece or two piece driveshaft?
Where is this 'link' (link: could be a slip yoke or flange) you're asking about...at the front of the driveshaft-to transmission?
At the rear of the driveshaft-to the rear axle, or in the center (two piece driveshaft)?
What size is the engine, what trans does it have? It is a short bed or long bed?
Or are you refering to U-joints when you say link? One piece driveshaft has two (front/rear), two piece has three (front/center/rear).

sorry still learning this ford lingo. um im guessing its a single drive train since its one pipe? its rwd. and the front looks fine looks like a regular axle end that slips easily into the tranny. the "link" i speak of is on the back connecting the drive train to the rear axel. i have the drive train im pretty positive i just need to replace that "link" at the end cuz it completly snapped. will post pics tonite

Two of the U-joint's (four) cups fit into these flanges, then two cups fit into like flanges made as part of the companion flange that bolts to the rear axle.
You prolly need the companion flange and a U-joint. If the flanges have snapped off the driveshaft, you'll have to find a driveshaft shop to have them replaced. And, the driveshaft will prolly need to be re-balanced,
Are you in SoCal? If so, I can give you a recommend for a shop (located on Alameda St in south LA) that can repair everything.

yea i google image searchd the companion flange and the part i need is the U joint and i found it on LMCtruck.com. And nah im in nor cal. How necessary is it to get the drive shaft re balanced. i noticed some balance weights already on there, but they look old. cuz honestly im gna fix this truck up but its gna go back to juz sitting in my neighbors yard
