I talked to a dealer Friday who told me turn around is @ 10 weeks right now, but as always, subject to change. Local dealers got a whole bunch Fri/Sat. A few Lariat Ltd kicking around.
10 weeks, that about what I figured. If I get it by the middle of March I will be lucky.
I haven't even got a build date yet. They must be swamped with orders after the first of the year
I imagine that they will put a hold on the ecoboost trucks for awhile before releasing them
In all reality the only ''required'' driving I have is to work and back, which is a less than 5 minute highway drive for me. The rest of my driving is purely optional and for recreation.

Really? No driving to the grocery store or driving somewhere to eat? Unless going to the grocery(if you do) is recreation for you maybe. I know it's not for me, but different strokes...
No questions here as I myself have gotten lucky enough to do an extended drive with an Ecoboost as well. I actually was lucky enough to get to test all engines out. The 5.0L and the Ecoboost impressed me the most.
How did the 6.2 compare to the mix? How did the power feel in comparison?

Well I don't often go out to eat, but when I do its normally with friends so it is ''recreation''. As far as going to grocery store, I do infact have to get groceries, but the beauty of were I live means that I can stop by the store on the way home from work and get them, at no extra expense of gas.

The 6.2L I drove was a 4WD crew cab Platinum with a 3.73 rear end. It drove very much like I expected it to. It had plenty of torque and revved freeley threw the RPM's, and it sounded crazy good! However the price of the engine and its limited availibilty sort of makes it obsolete for most. being a 3K premium over the standered V6. Though did seem to be the fastest of all the trucks I drove that day, The 5.0L and Ecoboost were very close to it.
I did write a full review and post it up on this fourm page. Was about a month ago. I'll set up the link so you can read it if you want.

I wasn't much concerned with "cost", it was everything outside of going to work was either "optional" and/or "recreational". To me(and this differs from person to person: going to get groceries is neither "optional" nor "recreational", but that does vary from person to person.
I have the Eco-Boost in my Lincoln MKT. It is OUTSTANDING.
Not sure how it will do in tow applications in an F-150 but, I would not be afraid of having one. I think Ford is being very BOLD with this engine in a truck and will very likely have a major home run on their hands.
I have been bugging my wife for quite some time for us get a muscle car. Didn't know we would find it in a Lincoln station wagon...er, uh...cross over.

Well Ive got about 4.5 mile drive to work everyday.
With that said...I Include shopping in this route ''even though its not recreation'' simply because I do infact drive right past a United and Wal-Mart as well as a gas station on the way to/from work.
Other than that tid'bit All of the driving I do is completely recreational. Basicly everything I would be required to leave the house for is on this 5 mile route to work and back. Which only adds up to about 25 miles a week. Which in theory if I drove the absolute minum required per week, I would still only drive about 1,300 miles a year. But I normally pull around 5,000 to 10,000 miles a year, and as you can see, most of that is recreation and ''for fun'' driving.
I agree but I am tired of trying to convince any of them. My ecoboost is on order so nothing else much matters now except to wait and wait and wait..........
A little off topic, but how much did the dealer require in deposit to place your order? I'm considering ordering a truck as well and my dealer is talking $2k.

No deposit. Maybe because I have bought 4 vehicles from the guy and he knows me
I got to drive the Eco twin turbo today and I was very impressed. I went to merge on the highway and hit 90 mph in no time. I have been used to 6.0 diesels and 5.4 in my current F250 and that engine had all the power I could ask for. If it even got 20mpg I would save over $125 a week on gas @ $3.50 a gallon. I looked at the mpg lie o meter on the truck as soon as it pulled in Charlotte from Mayland and it(4x4) had 22mpg showing. AS far as availability, I was told they are building the engines and dyno testing each one before crating the up for the plant. When they have enough ready, they will build a bunch. They claim they build a batch of each motor at once, not pick which engine as they go. I was told they should start hitting the lots in 3 weeks. They also said they have over 40 turbo trucks out in the country with over 100,000 miles on them doing real everyday work. As far as the turbos, it looks as if each side had the same size unit, water cooled, oil fed, and a nice looking intrercooler under the grill.Heated seats in the rear and the information in the dash was very cool. I think I will go order one.
@Little General, that's pretty dang good economy, even with the lie-o-meter. The thing is, that's all most of us can go on. It seems like it is much better than the V8. Could you please share some more details? What was the cab size? Bed size? Axle ratio? Your average speed and driving habbits? Were you trying to get the best mileage you could get? Any more info would be great! Thanks in advance.
