08 console replacing 03 console?

08 console replacing 03 console?
I want to install a 08 console in my 03 and get rid of the crappy console I have now. The thing I have not figured out yet is will it work in my truck if I take the armrests off and how bad does it look after I take the armrests off? I f some one has done this please give me your input and if you have a pic that would be awsome. I have searched and found reference to the armrests but never seem to find the end result posted. thanks aaron

I know the console will fit but I am assuming I wont beable to open it because the console is wider and the lid will hit on the armrests when I open it up. I f can just leave them thats better yet.
