alright i know the answer but i wanna make sure before i spend the money. Is there a huge difference in tire wear between mud and all terrain tires. I'm either gonna get 32X11.50 BFGR tire (the new ones) or the super swamper TSL boggers. i'd love to have the boggers cuz nobody around where i live has um and they would make my truck look bad as hell but i drive back and forth to work every day and never mud hardly..prolly once a month. The tire noise dont bother me...i like it in fact. I just wanna know if its REALLY gonna ride terrible and the wear is gonna be ALOT worse then BFGR AT tires.
i aint as dumb as i sound i just work 3rd shift and at a steel factory so you'll have to excuse me.
thanks shane
I assume you are talking about the BFG KO's. I had a set of BFG Allterrain's just before the KO's came out. They were on my old truck a 1993 Chevy K1500 Ext Cab Short bed. I put almost 25,000 miles on them and they looked like they were put on yesterday. Great mileage and the traction was pretty good.
I have no first hand on the Super Swampers except that I had a buddy with a CJ5 with Super Swampers and he said that he had to replace them about every 10,000 to 15,000 miles. They may not be the same ones you are talking about though.
i've heard some swampers throw pieces of the rubber off at highway speeds. the most outside ***** by the sidewall. that would cause a real balance prob. i guess you could cut them down a bit.
damnif they throw rubber off that aint somethin i want...has anybody ever owned the tires that could tell me anything.i just wanna know if they wear all that much more then the AT tires. Thanks to ya'll that replied to me i appriciate it, take it easy. shane
I haven't seen the boggers throw rubber off on the highway yet. But the will throw softball size chunks of mud when your out playing. I can tell you this, for about your first mile when the boggers are cold the flat spots will shake your fillings out. They are not your everyday highway tire. Noisy, which I like. Awesome in the mud. 15-20k miles max and they will be bald. Looking for an everyday tire try some type of radial tire. Dan
The boggers will perfrom great and look mean. On the other hand, as a friend of mine says "they ride like square wheels". They will last 1\3 as long as the BFG all-terrains. I base this on a friend of mine who had them, they looked great but there are major drawbacks. From what you're saying I'd get the BFG's, or maybe take a look at a less aggressive mud tire.
