door light question....

door light question....

Ok, so my 2001 Exc. has now stopped turn on the dome light when I open my drivers door. Anyone know where the contact switch is for the side? It's weird too, since that switch isn't working, the truck doesn't know you got out, so all the windows still work after shutting off the truck. Until someone opens another door the winndows are still live.....

It's part of the door latch. Try squirting a bunch of WD40 in there to free it up. Usually they fail the opposite way - the dome lights stay on when the door is shut.
