headlights no workie

1986 bronco with 3G alternator. This is the first ever issue I have had with the headlights.

I pull the switch and all lights come on except for the headlights. I suspect that because the 3G puts on more energy maybe I burnt up both lights. Let me know what to look for I have not tested with multimeter yet as I am at work and had to take the city bus...

BTW...I have had the 3G in for several years with no problems...maybe its a combo of the cold and oldness.

I'm assuming your headlights worked just fine before the 3G?

Both going out at once would lead me to believe it's not the headlights themselves. Maybe the switch was close to going out and fizzled right then.
When my headlight switch went out, my headlights would cut in and out at night (scary when you're on a 2-lane highway in the middle of nowhere).

Yep they worked fine. I suppose I will see if I'm getting a voltage reading at the headlights.
