starter or battery

99 f150 started acting up today,go to start it and seems like weak battery,starter just cliks ,then solenoid chatters a bunch ,then it engages turns over slow and starts,Is one year old battery dieing? or is starter dieing?

Have the battery tested.
Maybe the alternator is dieing.

Sounds like a battery to me, but at a year old, I think I'd be skeptical too. Have you put a voltmeter on the battery? Don't rule out the alternator, if the battery isn't being charged, even a new one will die. A bad Alt should give you a BATT light though.

ammeter in dashseems ok,needle right in the middle

Yep ,it was the battery,is toast, Jason at Advance Auto Parts In Palm Coast FL, excellent to deal with

Wow,that's a long ride!
So you drove from Canada to Florida to have the battery checked??

Glad you got it figured out.
