My lock actuator on the drive side as been acting up for a while now. 2 days ago, it was stuck up in the "unlocked" position, and would not move. Yesterday, it locked and unlocked without any problems. Went to get in the truck today for work, not moving at all...stuck in the ''locked'' position.
I need to know how I can get the door open to be able to take off the door panel and figure out what the heck is going on. When I try to pull the lever to open the door from the inside, the little "stick" tries to move up, but it feels like something is binding it up. I'd hate to really yank on it and break the handle and really not be able to get in the car.
Crawl in through the passengers side and drive the truck by the local lock smith shop. Have him slim jim the lock. Block the door from fully closing and tie it there. Drive it home and tear it apart.
LUCKLY today, it unlocked. It has it's days where it wants to work, then doesnt want to work. I'm keeping it unlocked until tomorrow when I get paid to replace the actuator.
