Question Timing Questions

I would like to bump up the timing in my truck to 10-12 degrees. How would I go about doing this without a timing light or anything like that? Is that possible? And what should I expect after doing so? Also, how much would an MSD ignition help my truck? Is it worth the money? And while I'm on the electronics, while searching through FTE, I found a link to the Superchips website, and found a chip for the 300. They advertised +14hp and +35lb/ft. Has anyone tried this chip out? If so, does it really work?

Timing Questions

I advanced mine a little using the method described above. Worked great. I did not go very far as I was told by a friend to be concerned about increasing temp and burning.
