Ok guys just pciked up the truck yesterday it is an 87 with the 300 6 and twice today i have stoped at a store ran in quick turn the key no start wait a while fires right up will run fine for a while then a few hours later it did the same thing any suggestions
Well we know why they sold it now,
ha just kidding, the brain may have a short in that opens when hot, and then closes after cooling down. If you have another rig switch the things and see what happens or ask a friend if you can switch him
my truck does that too but thats cause my choke is screwed up. hold it open and try starting it. mine fires right up. this one time i was out on the ice in the walmart parkinglot doing donuts doing at least 85 mph then i stopped to go into walmart and when i came out it wouldnt start so i stuc a piece of wire on the back side of the carb to hold the d@mn choke open and the ol beast fired right up. can anyone tell me why it floods out at 3000 rpms
I also used to have problems with my choke sticking. Would always happen coming out after it had been running for awhile then shut off. Let it be known that i could take that aircleaner off, shove in a screwdriver to open the choke, start it with the foot to the floor, bolt the aircleaner back down and be on my way within 2 mins. tops. Thought I was on some kind of pit crew for a few months. Got a carb kit and a tune up and now I miss my screw driver.
