The truck and trailer was probably worth 60 or 70k + the awning and the building it was connected to. I can't believe the guy made it out it looked like it crushed the whole cab to the frame.
Wow, I had to watch that a few times. You know he wasn't the brightest guy in the world to begin with, he was driving a Dodge. I hope everyone was o.k. That was an expensive day for sure.
im not sure if he made it out. but you can see the roof land on the truck, bottom out the springs and shocks, then tear the drivers side of the truck apart. if he had been closer to the pole he would have deffinatly been completely crushed.
the guy is an idot for hauling *** into the atm anyways, let alone with a huge 5th wheel behind him. i could tell it was a 6.7 cummins by the door badge, closer to the front door. some people are just plain dumb
That truck is about 8K and I bet that trailer was 10-12K and he was moving probably some 5-8mph. Its like a 20,000# wrecking ball. Those bolts on the concrete aint going to hold up.
That video was HOT on RV forum couple years ago.
This one was catch on a camera, but there are hundreds if not thousands similar every year. Do you know how tall are gas stations canopies? Usually over 15 feet. The legal height in US is 13-6
Gas stations made big margin for idiots
The installation of the carrier tubes and low-voltage wiring to control it with the intercom stations alone are worth $250,000.00. I would guess with canopy and stations it close to $800k after clean-up and replacement. Then from my experience with dealing with banks, he WILL be charged/sued a monetary amount for down time and inconvenience. Also we cannot see the damage occurred to the building when the canopy was ripped off.
As said above I'm glad to hear he and his son are OK and no one was i the other lanes.
I bet the tellers underwear are different shade now!
