expidition trans slippage
ok all i? need help have a 2003 expedition with the 5.4 triton auto trans , its slipping when put into drive hesitating to engage , took it to reputable trans shop no codes given but pressure was fluctuating. changed filter and fluid, replaced valve body gasket, replaced pressure switch and nuetral safty switch . rehooked up to scan tool pressure now steady and within limits but still hesitates to go into drive untill about 2500 rpm , no metal shavings in fluid??? I have heard of pump seal leaking and causing fluid to go into transfer case but fluid level is good . any ideas ? im at my wits end thanks for any help

You probably damaged the drive clutches when driving it while the pressure was fluctuating. The clutches are fiber faced and do not leave metal shavings. Often they glaze when they slip so there wont be any debris.
